Introduction – Autistic Pride is celebrated annually on June 18 to spread awareness about autism spectrum disorder among people across the world. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is one of the neurodevelopmental illnesses which affects the capacity of an individual to socially engage.

Autism Spectrum Disorder is also a complex brain development disability that comprises persistent challenges in speech and nonverbal communication, restricted or repetitive behaviors, and social interaction. This type of disorder also affects the normal function of the brain which affects the development of social interaction and communication of a person. The effects and severity of symptoms of this disorder are different in every person. Due to this problem, several people are harassed and their rights are violated. These people are labelled as ‘’snob’’ and ‘’anti-social’’ in society.

History – Firstly, the Autistic Pride Day is celebrated in Brazil in the year 2005. This international day was created by a Brazilian organization known as Aspies For Freedom (AFF) to spread awareness about autism among common people in the year 2005.

Significance – This international day is very important for raising awareness about the difficulties that are faced by people who are suffered from Autism. When they are growing up, they would face ill-treatment and other kinds of harassment by society or family members or friends. The main aim of this international day is to make sure that such children are treated normally all around the world. There are some activities such as cooking, reading, and many other routine hobbies that should be promoted so they should engage them.
