History – The United Nations General Assembly announced that the International Year of Families in a resolution on December 9, 1989. The United Nations General Assembly declared that the International Family Day is celebrated on May 15 every year. The main aim of this day is to motivate people to work for social progress and improve the living conditions of families across the world.
