In the third test match, South Africa won the test match by 7 wickets with India due to great performance in batting and bowling. After winning the third test match, South Africa won the test series by (2-1) against India.

Previously India won the toss and chose to bat first and was all out at 223/10 in the first inning due to great bowled by Kagiso Rabada 4/73 (22), and Marco Jansen 3/55 (18). Indian captain Virat Kohli 79 (201), Cheteshwar Pujara 43 (77), and Rishabh Pant 27 (50) were good batting from the Indian side.

In the first inning, South Africa was all out at 210/10 due to great bowled by Jasprit Bumrah 5/42 (23.3), Mohammad Shami 2/39 (16), Umesh Yadav 2/64 (16), and Shardul Thakur 1/37 (12). Keegan Petersen 72 (166), and Temba Bavuma 28 (52) were good batting from the South African side. After the first inning, India leads by only 13 runs against South Africa.

India made scored only in the second inning 198/10 due to great bowled by Marco Jansen 4/36 (19.3), and Lungi Ngidi 3/21 (14). Rishabh Pant 100* (139), and Virat Kohli 29 (143) were good batting from the Indian side. After this inning, India set a target of 211 runs against South Africa to win the third test match.

In the second inning, South Africa lost three wickets, reached the target of 211 runs, and won the third test match by 7 wickets due to great batted by Keegan Petersen 82 (113),  Rassie van der Dussen 41* (95), Temba Bavuma 32* (58), and Dean Elgar 30 (96). Jasprit Bumrah 1/54 (17), Mohammad Shami 1/41 (15), and Shardul Thakur 1/22 (11) were taking one wicket from the Indian bowling side.

Due to his great performance in batting in both innings, Keegan Petersen (SA) 72 (166) & 82 (113), was declared as the Player of the Match.

Keegan Petersen (SA) was also declared as the Player of the Series due to his great performance in batting in the whole test series.
