World Vegetarian Day 2021

Introduction – World Vegetarian Day is observed on October 1 annually all around the world to highlights the benefits of vegetarianism. The main purpose of this day is to spread awareness about the health benefits of vegetables and enjoy eating various vegetable dishes.  October is celebrated as a vegetarian awareness that ends on November with World Vegan Day.

History – The North American Vegetarian Society (NAVS) introduced this day in the year 1977, which was further recognized by the International Vegetarian Union in the year 1978. North American Vegetarian Society (NAVS) was introduced in the year 1974 and is a non-profit tax-exempt educational organization that is situated in the United States. As per NAVS, October 1 was chosen as an authorized date of World Vegetarian Day to raise awareness about humanitarian. environmental, and health benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle all around the world

Significance – A vegetarian food concentrates on seeds, green vegetables, fruits, grains, and nuts. It also includes healthy animal products such as honey, dairy, and eggs. This day promotes the benefits of taking green vegetables and concentrates on spread awareness for helping to save animals and preserve the Earth. NAVS highlights two prolonged purposes on this day. Firstly, the purpose of this day is to provide a support network for organizations, affiliated groups, group members, and vegetarians. Secondly, NAVS aims to inform about the health benefits of vegetables among common people worldwide.
