In the fifth match of IPL 2021, Mumbai Indians (MI) won the match by 10 runs with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

Earlier KKR won the toss and decided to bowl first. Due to great bowling by Andre Russell 5/15 (2), and Pat Cummins 2/24 (4), restricted the score and MI all out at 152/10 (20). Suryakumar Yadav 56 (36) with 7 boundaries and 2 sixes, and Rohit Sharma 43 (32) with 3 boundaries and 1 six batted well from the MI side

KKR started the chasing with the good opening partnership of 72 (8.5) between Nitish Rana 57 (47) with 6 boundaries and 2 sixes, and Shubham Gill 33 (24) with 5 boundaries and 1 six. But unfortunately, the last 7 wickets fall in the last 70 runs, KKR loses this match by 10 runs with MI due to great bowled by Rahul Chahar 4/27 (4), and Trent Boult 2/27 (4) from the MI side.

Due to great performance in bowling by Rahul Chahar (MI), was declared as the Player of the Match
