England won the first test match against India in Chennai by 227 runs due to a great performance by Joe Root 218 (377).

Previously England won the toss to chose to bat first and made runs in the first innings 578/10 due to great batted by Joe Root 218 (377), D. Sibley 87 (286), and B. Stokes 82 (118).

India made runs in the first inning 337/10 due to great batted by Rishabh Pant 91 (88), Washington Sundar 85 (138), Pujara 73 (143), and Ashwin 31 (91). England take the lead with 241 runs against India.

In the second inning, all the batman of England out in 178/10 due to great bowled by Ashwin 6/61, and Nadeem 2/66. During the second inning, unfortunately, India all out 192/10 due to great bowled by Jack Leach 4/76, and James Anderson 3/17.

England takes lead (1-0) out of 4 test matches. Joe Root was declared as the player of the match.
