Haemophilia – It is a rare genetic disease. Haemophilia is a disease in which blood of the patient does not clot easily. Since the blood does not clot easily, so if a person suffering from haemophilia gets a cut or wound then blood will keep coming out of this cut or wound for a long time. Haemophilia is characterized by a marked increase in the coagulation time of blood, so severe bleeding occurs after injuries of any kind, even of the minor type. Due to this, a person suffering from haemophilia can bleed to death from an injury, a cut or a wound because the bleeding does not stop readily.

Sickle cell anemia – It is also a genetic disease. Sickle cell anemia is a disease in which the red-blood corpuscles become sickle shaped due to a detective type of haemoglobin and their oxygen carrying capacity is greatly reduced. These sickle-shaped cells are readily destroyed in the circulation in the body. This lowers the quality of blood. Since the red blood cells are gradually destroyed, so a person gets anemia due to shortage of blood. In such cases, death usually occurs before middle age, often from other infection which attacks the anemic person having low body resistance. In our country, sickle cell anemia disease occurs in several parts of Bihar, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. Sickle cell anemia disease is very common among people living in some parts of Africa.
