There are more than 100 million users posted 340 million tweets per day and this service handed about 1.6 billion queries daily in the year 2012. Twitter was one of the ten most visited social media websites which is also popularly known as SMS of the Internet in the year 2013. There are more than 321 million monthly active users in this social networking website in the year 2018. In this social media website, the users focus on the debates of different topics, and covering politics news of the United States since 2015. At the time of presidential election of U.S. in the year 2016, this social networking site was the largest source of breaking news on the day with 40 million which is based on election-related tweets sent by 10:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) that day.

Twitter is also one of the most popular social media website in India. Thousands of users of our country joined this social media website. Now the political leaders also use this social networking site for campaigning at the time of election in India. The users with different views discuss on several topics in this social media website in India.  There are several bollywood actors and actresses can also conversation with audience for promoting movie. At present days, the account of Prime Minister of India, Chief Ministers of several states also use this popular social networking site and sharing their views on several topics with audience. Thus the use of Twitter was rapidly increases for the views of different issues among youngsters.

 Growth of Twitter – The rapid growth of Twitter in the year 2007 in which it had 400,000 tweets per quarter.. In the year 2008, this grew to about 100 million tweets per quarter. The users of this social media networking were sending 50 million tweets daily in February 2010.  There is about 65 million tweets were posted per day in June 2010 which is equivalent to about 750 tweets in every second as per Twitter. There were about 140 million tweets posted per day in March 2011.

The usage spikes of Twitter at the prominent and important events such as  it was a set of record of rapidly use of this social networking sites when fans of football wrote 2,940 tweets per second after Japan scored against Cameroon during the FIFA World Cup Football on June 14. This record was broken when the Los Angeles Lakers’ won in the year 2010 NBA Finals on June 17 then 3,085 tweets per second were posted. Again this record was broken when the victory of Japan over Denmark during the world cup then users posted 3,283 tweets per second. Again the new record was set when 7,196 tweets per second were posted during the final match between Japan and the Unites States in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2011. This record was again break when Michael Jackson, an American singer died on June 25, in the year 2009. Twitter servers were crashed when users of this social networking site were updating the status or tweets for Michael Jackson at about 100,000 tweets per hour. The latest record was set in Japan during a television screening of the movie Castle in the sky then the users posted 143,199 tweets per second.

Twitter Engagement – When anyone engage your post with the content then it is known as Twitter engagement. There are several different ways for customers which can interact with your content are as given below –
