Austria – It is federal republic in central Europe with a population of over 8.7 million people. It is surrounded by European countries, Czech Republic and Germany to the north Hungary and Slovakia to the east, Slovenia, and Italy to the south, Switzerland and Liechtenstein to the west. Austria is the 12th richest country of the world. The country has developed high standard of living. It has been member of United Nation since 1955, and the European Union in 1995.

Austria is federal republic with nine states. The parliament of Austria located in Vienna, the largest city and capital with population of about 1.8 millions. Austria is one of the most popular European countries for tourists. The most attractive places for tourist are as below
Hofburg Imperial Palace – It is one of Vienn’s most attraction places. There are former royal apartments as well as the glittering Imperial Silver Collection.
Hochosterwitz Castle – The medieval castle has 14 gates, each designed to protect the castle and its inhabitants. An inclined railway brings visitors to the castle.
Krems – It is located west of Vienna at the point where blue Danube river and Krems river converge. Krems is ancient historic city center. It is famous for wine industry.
Grossglockner Alpine road – It is a panoramic road leads to the center from where unobstructed Austria’s highest mountain, Grossglockner can be viewed. Generally the road is open from the start of May to the end of October.
Hallstatt – It is great tourist spot famous for salt production
Schonbrunn Palace – It is one of the major tourist attractions in Vienna and is 1,441 room palace built between 1696 and 1712.
Innsbruck Altstadt – Altstadt is a medieval town and famous for the house constructed for the Holy Roman Emperor, Maximilian I. It is decorated with thousands of glided copper tiles that create the appearance of pure gold so it is called Golden Roof.
Hohensalzburg Castle – This castle is located at the top of Festungsberg Mountain. It is one of the largest medieval castles in Europe and one of the top tourist attractions of Austria.
Zell am See – It is one of the most popular Alprine destinations in Austria. Zeller See is blue clear lake around which the city exists. In the background are snow-capped Hohe Tauern mountain peaks.
St Anton am Arlberg – There is another popular ski resort area tourist attractions in Austria. It is situated in Tyrol.
Seefeld in Tyrol – It is the main cross-country skiing center and situated on a spectacular nature reserve, it is the ideal spot for cold-weather sports and warm-weather strolls and hiking
Schafberg – It is the heart of the Salzkammergut Mountains and this mountain is part of the Limestone Alps, Schafberg is a top destination which can be easily accessible with a steam railway. Known as the Schafbergbahn. This railway is an iconic attraction in Schafberg.
Vienna State Opera – It is the Ringstraße, or Ring Road and Vienna State Opera House in the Vienna city, along which countless landmarks are found. The Vienna State Opera House is the main tourist attraction in the city. The Vienna State Opera House was constructed in the 19th century which in a Neo-Renaissance style. After Second World War, the structure was rebuilt to be true to the unique style.
Eisriesenwelt Cave – It is another marvellous tourist place in Austria which is made from ice, and when light strikes its walls it shines beautifully.
Mirabell Palace – Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich built the Mirabell Palace for his lover in the early 16th century. The inner is laden with marble, stuccoes and massive frescoes on the walls. In outside, the gardens are very impressive, and the sculpture collection is marvellous.
Hohenwerfen Castle – The medieval Hohenwerfen Castle is floating on a rocky extension that manages the Salzachtal Valley. The castle is a way to know really get to about feudal life, and the falconry in specific is a big draw for tourists.
The river Danube flows for about 350kms from west to east through the northern part of country adding to its attraction as tourist destination.
