The term personality has been derived from the Latin word “per sona” which means to ‘speak through’. The common usage of the word personality signifies the role which the person displays to the public. Personality of an individual is unique, personal and a major determinant of his behavior. Because of differences in personality, individuals differ in their manner of responding to different situations.

Personality means how a person affects others and how he understands and views himself as well as the pattern of inner and outer measurable traits. Personality defines how a person affects others depends upon his physical appearance including height, weight, facial features, color and behavior including courteous, friendly, expressive, cooperative. Types of personality – Depending upon the behavior the personality is divided into two types

• Type A Personality – Individual who are impatient, aggressive and highly competitive are termed as Type A personalities. Type A people tend to be very productive as they work hard. The negative side of them is that they are impatient, not good term players, more irritable and have poor judgment.
• Type B personality – People who are easy going, laid back and non-competitive are termed as Type B personalities. Type B people who are patient, relax without guilt, never in a hurry and those who keep on putting even the essential tasks off.
