American company, InFocus will launch a latest smartphone with Aadhaar certification and iris scanner. It will be available in 2017 may cost below Rs 12,000.
The Central government has given prize of STQC (Standardization testing and Quality Certification) to the American based company, InFocus. STQC certification confirms the use of Iris-recognition devices which is used for biometric authentication related with the Aadhaar project. The planning of the company is to introduce more smartphones with Aadhaar authentication in the upcoming year.
The smartphones with Aadhaar authentication will help user to verify their Aadhaar biometrics and give benefit of several government programmes, subsidies and services to the common people.
The new smartphone offers a 4.5-inch display and is back up by a 2300mAh battery. It has 1.5GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and support Android 5.1 Lollipop. The device comes with storage of 8GB and option for expand up to 64GB with the help of microSD card.
The device supports dual-SIM and can be used in several fields which include banking, E-PDS (Electronic Public System), MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) payments, E-governance services such as passport, taxation, healthcare and education.
