The physical and biological world where we live is known as environment. The three main components of an environment, which are given below-
- Living organisms – The living organisms, which constitute the environment are animals, plants, human beings, and micro-organisms such as bacteria, and fungi or decomposers.
- Physical surroundings – The physical surroundings, which make up the environment are water bodies, land, and air or atmosphere. Land is a solid component of Earth consisting of three layers including crush, mantle, and core. The uppermost part of solid Earth is called as soil, which is an important component of our environment. The thick gaseous cover oil of air surrounding the Earth is known as atmosphere. It sustain life on Earth providing oxygen for respiration and carbon dioxide for photosynthesis.
- Climatic or Metrological factors – The climatic factors, which form a part of our environment are temperature, humidity, sunlight, rainfall, atmospheric pressure, and wind speed.
