World Forestry Day 2026

World Forestry Day is also called as International Day of Forests, which is celebrated annually on March 21 worldwide to spread awareness about the importance of forests and encourage afforestation among common people. The main purpose of this global day is to conserve and protect forests for future generations. This international day provides an opportunity to educate people about the importance of forests, and promotes afforestation efforts across the world. The theme of this global day in the year 2026 is ‘Forests and Economies’ which emphasizes the important role of forests for good economies by providing food, wood, timber, and many more.

Forests play a significant role in our daily lives by providing homes, the air we breathe, fruits, woods, fresh air, and many more. It also provides several essential resources including wood, fruits, timber, and many more in our daily lives. Forests also help in reducing several forms of pollutants such as air pollution, and many more. They also control or restrict the flow of water and help the earth to absorb which reduces property damage and soil loss during heavy floods. Forests are also beneficial in maintaining the temperature of the Earth and lowering the risk of global warming. They also help in maintaining the oxygen levels in the atmosphere which makes it easier for humans and several other creatures to breathe.

Forests also provide wood that can be used in making houses and beautiful furniture, and making food for human beings. But due to industrialization, deforestation is rapidly increasing which may result in enhancing global warming across the world that is harmful for human beings. Thus, the main aim of this international day is to protect and conserve forests to maintain oxygen levels, promote afforestation that reduce global warming worldwide.
