Taraweeh is a voluntary special night prayer, which may be performed after Isha prayer (Namaz) during the sacred month of Ramadan. The term “Taraweeh” comes from the Arabic word, which means “to rest” as the prayer (Namaz) is commonly performed in several sets and short breaks so these pauses, individuals may take rest while reciting applications or the holy Quran.

Taraweeh is a special night prayer, which involves the recitation of big portions of the Holy Quran throughout the month of Ramadan. These special night prayer includes 8 or 20 rakat, which allow for breaks between sets, and is mainly performed by Sunnah in mosques worldwide.
Taraweeh is mainly performed in mosques where male individuals and sometimes women come together in crowd and recite the whole Holy Quran during the sacred month of Ramadan. Several individuals, especially women may be performed Taraweeh at their homes during the holy month of Ramazan. Muslim individuals performed Taraweeh after the Isha prayer (Namaz) before the Witr prayer (Namaz) especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
Taraweeh special prayer (Namaz) at sighing moon (Chand Raat) and end at the last or final day of Ramazan. It also provides several spiritual benefits for Muslim individuals by spending extra time in praying (Namaz), reflection, and remembrance of God (Allah) during the sacred month Ramazan. The other benefit of Taraweeh is individuals may listen to the Holy Quran with understandings or meanings during Taraweeh in Ramazan. Thus, Taraweeh may allow Muslim individuals to reconnect with the Holy Quran and their teachings, mainly during the sacred month of Ramazan.
Muslim individuals may pray in Mosques with their friends, family members, and neighbors, which may increase faith and seek for blessings and rewards from God (Allah).
