As per Islamic belief, Ramadan is an Arabic word, which means dryness or scorching heat and is one of the five pillars of Islam. Fasting is beneficial for your good health when properly put into the holy month of Ramadan. The month of Ramadan is based on fasting (Roza) which promotes the elimination of toxins from the human body, lowers blood sugar, and reduces fat stores in the body. Fasting (Roza) also encourages healthy eating habits and boosts immunity which is beneficial for your health.
The holy month of Ramadan is divided into three parts, which are discussed below –
- Rahmat – “Mercy of Allah’’
- Maghfirat – ‘’Forgiveness of Allah’’
- Nijaat – ‘’Salvation’’
The first 10 days of Ramadan represent the mercy of Almighty Allah, the next 10 days signify the forgiveness of Almighty Allah, and finally, the last 10 days represent safety from the Hellfire. So, Ramadan is known as a month of forgiveness and mercy. Ramadan also allows for all the devotees to be saved from the Hellfire. In the month of Ramadan, a Muslim is also blessed with a night (Laila-tul-Qadr) that is better than a thousand months.
First Ashra of Ramazan Mercy (Rahmat) – The first or starting 10 days of Ramadan symbolize the mercy of Almighty Allah. Mercy (Rehmat) is the first and is an important Ashra of Ramadan, which occurs between the 1st and 10th of Ramazan. Muslims must seek the mercy (Rahmat) of Almighty Allah during the first ten days of the sacred month of Ramadan. The first Ashra reflects the Mercy of Allah so it is known as Rehmat, which is an important Ashra of Ramadan. Muslims give charity or money to poor people and seek or receive the Mercy (Rehmat) of Almighty Allah during the first Ashra of Ramadan. The first ten days of Ramadan are very important for Muslims to start fasting and worship. You should avoid abusive words, talking back, and many other bad habits during fasting.
Muslims must give charity (Zakat) to poor people so that they will be able to celebrate Ramadan and Eid. You should help poor people, including first preference to your poor family members and then other individuals, treating good people, and many more for the sake of Almighty Allah with the pure purpose or intention of seeking his mercy (Rehmat).
