Ajit Pawar belonged to the Nationalist Congress Party and was presently the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra along with Eknath Shinde under the Chief Minister of Devendra Fadnavis from December 2024 until his death on January 28 in the year 2026. Ajit Pawar was the longest Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra under the governments of Uddhav Thackeray, Prithviraj Chavan, Eknath Shinde and presently Devendra Fadnavis.
