Introduction – National Voters Day is celebrated every year on January 25 in India to encourage more young voters that take part in the electoral or polling process. It also the honor or celebrate the foundation day of Election Commission of India, which is created or established by the Government of India.

History – Firstly, this day is celebrated on January 25, in the year 2011, to promote a large number of young voters to take part during the polling process. In the year 2011, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh approved a proposal of the law ministry to this effect at that time. Ambika Soni, former information and broadcasting minister pointed out that the new young voters who attained the age of 18 years old were showing less interest to get enrolled during elections. Thus, this national day is celebrated to promote young voters in the electoral process.

Significance – Now, this day is very important to promote a first-time or large number of young voters for the upcoming five state elections. The main goal of National Voters Day is to educate young individuals across the country about the importance of voting right.
