Shaban is a very important month for Muslims and is a significant time of spiritual preparation that precedes the sacred or holy month of Ramadan. It is the 8th month of the Islamic or Hijri calendar and is the last lunar month of the year before the holy month of Ramzan. The term Shaban comes from the Sha’ aba’, which is an Arabic word that means ‘emerge’,or ‘branch out’which holds great importance in Islam. As per Muslims believe that Prophet Muhammad would offer fast (Roza) more in the holy or sacred month of Shaban than in any other month, excluding Ramadan. In Shaban, most Muslims start preparing for fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

Shaban started between January 21 and ends may be on February 18 or 19in the year 2026, which may be depend on the sighting of the moon of Ramadan. Muslims celebrated the month of Shaban all over the world, and it was the most favorite month of Prophet Mohammad in the case of worship. The main advantage of fasting and worship in the month of Shaban is that it provides an opportunity to train for the preparation of the holy month of Ramzan.

11 Shaban marks or celebrates the birth anniversary (Wiladat) of Hazrat Ali Akbar, who is the eldest son of the Imam Hussain (a,s,), and is highly honored for his bravery and sacrifice in the battle of Karbala. It will be observed on January 27 in the year 2026 and is mainly celebrated by Shia individuals all around the world. Most Muslim individuals, especially Shia, celebrate the birth anniversary (Wiladat) of Hazrat Ali Akbar with celebration and nazr across the world. A huge number of Shia individuals offer fast (Roza) to celebrate the birth anniversary (Wiladat) of Hazrat Ali Akbar. Many Shia individuals go to Karbala for ziarat and celebrate the birth anniversary (Wiladat) of Hazrat Ali Akbar with great celebration.
