Shaban is the 8^th and most important month of the Islamic or Hijri Calendar, which will be started on January 21 in the year 2026. It is the last lunar month before the holy month of Ramzan, which holds great importance in Islam. The term Shaban comes from the Sha’ aba’, which is an Arabic word that means ‘emerge’, or ‘branch out’ which holds great importance in Islam. Muslims believe that Prophet Muhammad would offer fast (Roza) more in the holy or sacred month of Shaban than in any other month, excluding Ramadan.

Muslims individuals celebrate the 4 Shaban, which marks the birth anniversary (Wiladat) of Hazrat Abbas ibn ibn Ali, which will be celebrated on January 24 in the year 2026.  Hazrat Abbas is the Alamdar (Standard-Bearer) during the battle of Karbala and also the brother of Imam Hussain. It is mainly celebrated by Shia Muslims all over the world. It is a day or time to increase worship (Ibadat), fasting, and also preparation for the holy month of Ramazan. A large number of Shia individuals went to Karbala to offer ziarat and celebrate the birth anniversary of Hazrat Abbas ibn Ali.

4 Shaban will be observed on January 24 in the year 2026 to honor or celebrate the birth anniversary (Wiladat) of Hazrat Abbas ibn Ali.
