Osteoporosis – It may occur when bone density decreases which may cause become weak and brittle and result in fracture. Generally, osteoporosis can also occur in the spine, hip, or wrist. It affects both men and women of all races across the world. However, osteoporosis may occur mostly in Asian and white women who are suffering earlier from menopause. Daily exercise, a healthy diet, and medications may be beneficial to prevent bone loss and strengthen weak bones in the human body.

Osteoporosis can develop gradually in the human body and people may identify this disease when they are suffering from a bone fracture in a minor accident. If you are suffering from osteoporosis then a cough or sneeze can break bones. Mostly the fracture occurs in the wrists, spinal, or hip in those individuals who are suffering from osteoporosis. Causes of Osteoporosis – Osteoporosis may occur when the age of any individual increases and their bones lose their capability to reform and regrow themselves.
Risk Factors – There are several risk factors that may be responsible for osteoporosis in human beings are given below –
- Family history
- Increase in age
- Individuals who use tobacco products or smoke
- Osteoporosis may occur much more in women as compared with men
- Asian or white ancestry has a greater risk of osteoporosis
- Osteoporosis is very common in those individuals who have more or less of certain hormones including thyroid hormone and sex hormones
- Osteoporosis is more likely to occur in those individuals who are suffering from calcium deficiency
Prevention – Daily exercise and good nutrition including calcium, and vitamin D are necessary to keep your bones strong and healthy which helps in reducing the risk of osteoporosis.
