Tiday, Shia Muslims observed Chehlum across the world including India after 40 days of 10th Muharram or Ashura. On this day, Most Shia people perform Arbaeen in Karbala, Iraq on Chehlum or 20th day of safar

Arbaeen is an event to mark 40 days (Chaliswaan) or Chehlum to remember or mourn of Imam Hussain his family members and companions  who were shaheed in the battle of Karbala after 40 days of 10th Muharram or Ashura in the city of Karbala, Iraq. Arbaeen may observed on the 20th of safar, which is the 2nd month of Islamic calendar. Shia Muslims may observed Chehlum or Arbaeen after 40 days of Ashura or 10th Muharram with mourning  gatherings through Juloos. Most Shia individuals may perform Arbaeen by walking between Najaf and Karbala and perform Ziarat of Imam Hussain Shrine,  Hazrat Abbas rauza, and many more.

Family members and companions of Imam Hussain were shaheed in the battle of Karbala on 10th Muharram. After 40 days of Ashura or 10th Muharram, Most Muslims especially Shia individuals  reached Iraq and walk between Najaf and Karbala for about 80 km for Arabaen or Chehlum. Millions of people across the world including India visit in Iraq for Arbaeen.

Today, Shia Muslims performing Arbaeen on Chehlum after 40 days of 10th Muharram in Karbala, Iraq.
