Zak Crawley 64 (57), Harry Brook 53 (64),  Ben Dickett 43 (38), and Joe Root 29 (45) were good batting from the England side. England lead the runs by 23 runs against India after the first inning.

In the second inning, India made a huge score of 396 runs due to great batting by Yashasvi Jaiswal 118 (164), Akash Deep 66 (94), Washington Sundar 53 (46), Ravindra Jadeja 53 (77), and Dhruv Jurel 34 (46). Josh Tongue 5/125 (30), Gus Atkinson 3/127 (27), and Jamie Overton 2/98 (22) were good bowling from the England side. After this inning, India set a huge target of 373 runs for England to win the last test match.

In the second inning, England was all out at 367 runs and lost the match by only 6 runs with India due to great bowling by Mohammed Siraj 5/104 (30.1), Prasidh Krishna 4/126 (27), and Akash Deep 1/85 (20). Harry Brook 111 (98), Joe Root 105 (152), and Ben Dickett 54 (83) were good batting from the England side.

Mohammed Siraj (IND), 4/86 & 5/104, was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in bowling.

Harry Brook was declared as the Player of the Series due to his great performance in batting in the whole test series against India.
