Earlier, South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl first thus Australia first batted in the first inning and was all out at only 212 runs due to great bowling by Kagiso Rabada 5/51 (15.4), Marco Jansen 3/49 (14), Aiden Markram 1/5 (2), and Keshav Maharaj 1/19 (6).  Beau Webster 72 (92), Steve Smith 66 (112), and Alex Carey 23 (31) were good batting from the Australian side.

In the first inning, South Africa was all out at only 138 runs due to great bowling by Pat Cummins 6/28 (18.1), Mitchell Starc 2/41 (13), Josh Hazelwood 1/27 (15), Both David Bedingham 45 (111), Temba Bavuma 36 (84) were good batting from the South African side. After this inning, Australia lead 74 runs against South Africa in the first inning.

In the second inning, Australia was all out at only 207 runs due to great bowling by Kagiso Rabada 4/59 (18), Lungi Ngidi 3/38 (13), Wiaan Mulder 1/18 (8), Aiden Markram 1/5 (2), and Marco Jansen 1/58 (18). Mitchell Starc 58* (136), Akex Carey 43 (50), and Marnus Labuschagne 22 (64) were good batting  from the Australian side. After this inning, Australia set a target of 282 runs for South Africa to win this match.

In the second inning, South Africa lost 5 wickets and chased successfully the target of 282 runs in 5 wickets, and won the WTC final match by 5 wickets with Australia due to great batting by Aiden Markram 136 (207), Temba Bavuma 66 (134), Wiaan Mulder 27 (50), and David Bedingham 21* (49). Mitchell Starc 3/66 (14.4), Josh Hazelwood 1/58 (19), and Pat Cummins 1/59 (17) were good bowling from the Australian side.

Aiden Markram (SA), 1/5, 1/5 & 136 (207), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in batting and also bowling in the WTC final match 2025.
