Earlier, DC won the toss and chose to bowl first thus MI first batted and made a good score of 180/5 in 20 overs due to great batting by Suryakumar Yadav 73* (43), Tilak Varma 27 (27), and Ryan Rickelton 25 (18). Mukesh Kumar 2/48 (4), Kuldeep Yadav 1/22 (4), and Mustafijur Rahman 1/30 (4) were good bowling from the DC side. After this inning, MI set a good target of 181 runs in 20 overs for DC to win this match.

During chasing, DC was all out at only 121 runs in 18.2 overs and lost the match by 59 runs with MI due to great bowling by Mitchell Santner 3/11 (4), Jasprit Bumrah 3/12 (3.2), Trent Boult 1/29 (4), Deepak Chahar 1/22 (3), Karn Sharma 1/31 (3), and Will Jacks 1/16 (1). Sameer Rizvi 39 (35), Vipraj Nigam 20 (11), and Ashutosh Sharma 18 (16) were good batting from the DC side.

Suryakumar Yadav (MI), 73* (43), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in batting in this match.
