Earlier, LSG won the toss and chose to bowl first thus MI first batted and made a huge score of 215/7 in 20 overs due to great batting by Ryan Rickelton 58 (32), Suryakumar Yadav 54 (28), Will Jacks 29 (21), Naman Dhir 25* (11), and Corbin Bosch 20 (10). Mayank Yadav 2/40 (4), Avesh Khan 2/42 (4), and Ravi Bishnoi 1/41 (4) were good bowling from the LSG side.

During chasing, LSG was all out at only 161 runs in 20 overs, and lost the match by 54 runs with MI due to great bowling by Jasprit Bumrah 4/22 (4), Trent Boult 3/20 (4), and Will Jacks 2/18 (2). Ayush Badoni 35 (22), Mitchell Marsh 34 (24), and Nicholas Pooran 27 (15) were good batting from the LSG side.

Will Jacks (MI), 29 (21) & 2/18 (2), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in batting and bowling in this match.
