Ambedkar Jayanti 2025

Ambedkar Jayanti is observed every year on April 14 across India to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. It is celebrated especially by Advasi, Labor, Dalits, Workers, and many more all over the country.

 Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was born on April 14, 1891, and is also known as Babasaheb Ambedkar. He was a politician, social reformer, jurist, and economist that inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement. Dr. Ambedkar was also India’s first Minister of Law and Justice and one of the main architects of the Constitution of India thus, he was also honored as the ‘’Father of the Indian Constitution’’. He has campaigned or fought against untouchability and social discrimination for Dalits. He was a creative student and earning a doctorate in economics from the University of London and Columbia University. Babasaheb Ambedkar was also worked as India’s first law minister in the cabinet of Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru.

Ambedkar was gaining a reputation as a scholar for his research in economics, political science, and law. He was a lawyer, professor, and economist in this early career. After that, Ambedkar became involved in campaigning for the independence of India, advocating social freedom, and political rights for Dalits. He converted to Buddhism initiating mass conversions of Dalits in the year 1956. Babasaheb Ambedkar has received posthumously Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award in the year 1990.

On 6 December 1956, Ambedkar died in his sleep at his home in Delhi. He was a great leader and known for campaigned against social discrimination for Dalits. Thus, the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar will be celebrated as an Ambedkar Jayanti all over India.
