Mahavir Jayanti 2025

Mahavir Jayanti, also called Mahaveer Janma Kalyanak, is the most important festival in Jainism. It honors the birth of Lord Mahavir and will be celebrated on April 10 in the year 2025. Lord Mahavir Swami is the 24th Tirthankar of Jainism, who is intensely or deeply respected for his teachings on truth, spiritual enlightenment, compassion, and non-violence (ahimsa). It is celebrated mainly by the Jain Community.

Mahavir Jayanti is observed with deep reverence by the Jain Community and is celebrated on the 13th day of the Chaitra month as per the Hindu Calendar. It is also celebrated with enthusiasm and vigour by the Jain Community to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Mahavir, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism. Lord Mahavir, also called Vardhamana, was the 24th spiritual teacher (Tirthankar) in Jainism, which originated in ancient India.

Jain Temples also called as Basadis or Jain Derasars are made or built to commemorate Lord Mahavir and many other Tirthankaras, which serve as places of worship for the Jain Community. There are several Jain Temples that are dedicated or devoted  to Lord Mahavir and is  located in several states of India are
