In the second match of Indian Premier League (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won the match by 44 runs against Rajasthan Royals (RR) due to great performance in batting. After winning this match, SRH was placed in the top position with 2 points.

Earlier, RR won the toss and chose to bowl first thus SRH made a huge score of 286/6 in 20 overs due to great batting by Ishan Kishan 106* (47),  Travis Head 67 (31), and Heinrich Klaasen 34 (14). Tushar Deshpande 3/44 (4), Maheesh Theekshana 2/52 (4), and Sandeep Sharma 1/51 (4) were wicket-taker bowlers from the RR side. After this inning, SRH set a huge target of 287 runs for RR to win this match.

During chasing, RR lose 6 wickets and scored 242/6 in 20 overs and lose the match by 44 runs with SRH due to good bowling by Harshal Patel 2/34 (4), Simarjeet Singh 2/46 (3), and and Mohammad Shami 1/33 (4). Dhurv Jurel 70 (35), Sanju Samson 66 (37), and Shimron Hetmyer 42 (23) were good batting from the RR side.
