Ramadan – It is also called as Ramzan and is the ninth month of the Hijri calendar which starts from Moharram, Safar, Rabiul Awwal, Rabius Sami, Jamadiul Awwal, Jamadus Sami, Rajab, Shaban, and Ramzan There are several other three-month being Shawwal, Zidat, and Zilhijja. Ramadan is celebrated as the month of praying, fasting, Quran recitation, and doing good things for 29 or 30 days. Ramzan is a very important holy or sacred month for Muslims worldwide due to the Quaran’s first revelation to Mohammad (A.S), the prophet. It is also a month of spiritual reflection, worship (ibadat), blessings, and enhanced devotion. The Quran was revealed in the holy or sacred month of Ramadan which is a source of true guidance for all humankind and humanity.

What is Sehri in Ramadan – The word ‘’Sehri’’ comes from Persian and is also known as Sahur or Suhoor in Arabic word. It is the meal taken by Muslims in the early morning before Fajr Namaz (Prayer) for fasting is called as Sehri. Sehri is the last meal before fasting (Roza), which provides strength for the worship (Ibadat)of Allah for fasting (Roza) for the entire day. Sehri is a significant practice of Ramzan which gives energy for the entire day. It is also very important for fasting (Roza) for the whole day because it provides energy and avoids weakness, which is caused by the fast.
In the past several years, Muslim individuals were awakened in the Sehri time by beating drums while roaring on the roads and streets. This man is called as ‘’Musahrati’’ with good health and voice and the main responsibility to awake Muslim individuals for Sehri. Now, the modern method is setting off an alarm in mobile phones to wake up in the early morning for Sehri. Generally, people wake up in the early morning for Sehri at 3:30 a.m. in the Sehri time. Most people take light dishes including bread butter, omelette bread, fruits, and tea.
