Before Republic Day, Jan 23 marks the 128th birth anniversary of freedom fighter, Subhash Chandra Bose was popularly called as Netaji. Now, The Central Government has decided to start celebrations of Republic Day from January 23 as a Subhash Chandra Bose birth anniversary which will be celebrated as a ‘’Parakram Diwas’’. Parakram Divas is observed every year on January 23 to celebrate the 128th birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose, a great freedom fighter. Subhas Chandra Bose played an important role and great contribution to the Independence of India which earned him the title of “Netaji’’ revered leader.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared that an install a grand granite statue of Netaji at India Gate in Delhi before republic day. Until the statue of Bose is made, a hologram statue will be installed at that place is identified for the granite sculpture. As per a report, the statue of Netaji maybe 28 feet (8.5m) in height and 8 feet (2.4m) in breadth or width. The statue of Netaji is made up of black stone or granite that will be brought from the state of Telangana. The statue of Subhash Chandra Bose will be located in the canopy that replaces the Amar Jawan Jyoti. Amar Jawan Jyoti, the ‘’eternal flame’’ was merged with the National War Memorial Torch on January 21.
Subhas Chandra Bose is one of the greatest freedom fighters who played an important role in the freedom movement for the independence of India. He was born on January 23, 1897, in Cuttack in the state of Odisha. Netaji founded Azad Hind Fauj is also called as Indian National Army to fight with the Britishers.

Parakram Divas is celebrated as a National Festival that also remembers the sacrifice of Subhas Chandra Bose for the Independence of our country. The main purpose of this national day is to develop a sense of patriotism among Indian citizens for future challenges. On this national day, the whole country remembered a great leader and freedom fighter, Subhas Chandra Bose on this birth anniversary.
