Medina – It is also popularly known as Madinah and is the most important pilgrimage place for the Muslim community, which is located in Saudi Arabia. Medina is also one of the most sacred or holy and important pilgrim places in Islamic history or for Umrah or Haj and also the fourth most populous city in the country of Saudi Arabia. There are around 58.5 percent population are living as local Saudi individuals and the remaining 41.5 percent population are foreigners or coming from several countries in Saudi Arabia. Medina is also considered as the most sacred place in the Islamic history and is also the important place for the Muslim Community during Umrah and Haj. It is also the second holiest or sacred and most important place in Islamic history with Jerusalem and Mecca.

Important Pilgrimage Places in Medina – There are several important pilgrimage places in Medina are given below –
- Masjid al-Nabawi – It is a significant place for pilgrimage and the second mosque was built by Prophet Mohammad after the Quba masjid in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Masjid al-Nabawi is also the second largest mosque and holiest place in the city of Medina after the Masjid al-Haram in the city of Mecca. Muslims must visit Masjid al-Nabawi in the city of medina during Umrah or haj. Masjid al-Nabawi is a very beautiful mosque that attracts millions of people across the world. During Umrah, I also visit several mosques including Masjid al-Nabawi and pray or namaz in this mosque.
- Jannat al–Baqi – It is situated next or close to the Masjid al-Nabawi in the city of Medina, Saudi Arabia. Jannat al-Baqi is also called as Baqi a; -Gharqad is the oldest and first Islamic cemetery in the city of Medina. As per Islamic History, Jannat al-Baqi was founded by Muhammad and served as the burial place of their companions and relatives. Jannat al-Baqi opens for public after fajr and Asra prayer for ziarat. I also visit Jannat al-Baqi after Asra Namaz with our family and group members.
- Masjid Quba – It is considered as the first mosque, which was also built by Prophet Mohammad in the city of Medina, Saudi Arabia. I also visit Masjid Quba where I pray or namaz at this masjid during Umrah. Masjid Quba is a very important pilgrimage place for Muslims during Umrah or Haj.
- Masjid of Al-Ghamamah – The word Ghamamah means cloud (badal) and is one of the oldest mosques in the city of Medina, which is situated close to Masjid e-Nabawi. Muslims believed that Prophet Muhammad performed an Eid Prayer (Namaz) in the Masjid of Al-Ghamamah in the year 631. It is also believed about this masjid that when the people of Medina faced severe drought or shortage of rain then Prophet Muhammad offered prayer Salat ul-Istasqa for rain.
- Masjid al-Qiblatayn – It is also one of the important mosques for ziarat in the city of Medina in Saudi Arabia. Sawad ibn Ghanam ibn Kaáb built Masjid al-Qiblatayn that was located in the city of Medina, Saudi Arabia during the year 2 AH (623 CE). Masjid-al-Qiblatayn is an important mosque that has two mihrabs (niches indicating the qibla) in several sections. Muslims believed that Prophet Muhammad received the command or instruction from Allah in this masjid to change the direction of prayer (Qibla) from Masjid Al Aqsa, Jerusalem to Kaaba, Mecca.
- Uhud Pahadi – It is a very important pilgrim place for the Muslim community and is located in the city of Medina, Saudi Arabia with a height of 3.533 ft and 4.7 miles (7.5 km) long. Uhud Pahadi is an important place where the second battle was fought on March 19, 625 CE between the small force of the Muslim Community of Medina and the big force of Mecca as per Islamic History.
- Masjid–e-Ali – It is also a very important mosque and is located in the west of Masjid-e-Nabawi in the city of Medina, Saudi Arabia. It is believed that Imam Ali led Eid Salah in this masjid during his caliphate.
