Introduction – Teacher’s Day is celebrated annually on September 5 in India to honor the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a scholar, Bharat Ratna recipient, and highly respected teacher who was born in the year 1888.

Dr. Radhakrishnan was also a politician and the first Vice President of India between 1952 and 1962. After that, he also became the second President of India from 1962 to 1967. In the year 1931, Dr. Radha Krishnan was also received or honored with the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India. He was also an Indian academic professor and was born on September 5, 1888, so the birthday of Dr. Radhakrishnan is celebrated as a teacher’s day annually on September 5 in India. Dr. Radhakrishnan was also the 4th Vice Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University between 1939 and 1948. He was also the 2nd ambassador of India to the Soviet Union between 1949 and 1952.
