It’s a very proud moment for our country that Indian Para High Jumper, Mariyappan Thangavelu created history and won the bronze medal in the men’s high jump T63 event at the Paris Paralympics 2024.

Mariyappan Thangavelu was placed in the third position with the best jump of 1.85m and won the historical bronze medal in the men’s high jump T63 event at the Paris Paralympics 2024. In the same event, Ezra Frech (United States) won the gold medal with the best jump of 1.94m and Sharad Kumar (India) won the silver medal with the best jump of 1.88m at the Paris Paralympics 2024.

Earlier, Mariyappan Thangavelu won the gold medal in the men’s high jump T42 event at the Rio Paralympics 2016. He also won the silver medal in the men’s high jump T63 event at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020.

Mariyappan Thangavelu also won the silver medal in the men’s high jump T63 event at the Asian Para Games in Hangzhou in the year 2022.
