APCC is an organization, which encourages the development and growth of the coconut industry mainly in the Asia-Pacific region. Asian Pacific Coconut Community (APCC) was introduced on September 2 in the year 1969 thus, World Coconut Day is celebrated on September 2 worldwide. The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for the Asia Pacific (UN-ESCAP) allowed APCC to celebrate this International Day every year on September 2. World Coconut Day is celebrated in many Indian states such as West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Orissa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and many more.
Theme – The theme of World Coconut Day in the year 2024 is ‘’Coconut for a Circular Economy: Building Partnership for Maximum Value’’ which highlights the importance of coconuts and also emphasizes the requirement for strong partnerships between industries, producers, and farmers for maximizing the value of coconuts.
Significance – Coconuts contain a good source of several nutrients which is beneficial for your health.
