National Thermal Engineer Day is celebrated every year on July 24 to honor the contributions of thermal engineers across the world. This international day provides an opportunity to share the importance of thermal energy all around the world.

Thermal energy is a form of energy, which is contained in a system and is responsible for its temperature, heat is also another form of thermal energy and thermal energy is directly proportional to the change in temperature of any object. It means an increase in temperature that raises thermal energy because of the faster movements of molecules and atoms of the substances. Thermodynamics is the branch of the subject of physics, which deals with the transfer of energy from one place to another and also from one form to another. It also deals with the basic concepts of temperature, heat, and other forms of energy.
Thermal engineering mainly concentrates on fluid mechanics, heat transfer, cooling systems, and heating. This type of engineering involves liquid mechanics, heat, and thermodynamics. Thermal engineers play an important role in big companies which require temperature regulation. The main work of a thermal engineer is to design systems, which utilize several thermal sources of generated energy to create mechanical, electrical, or chemical energy. Thermal engineers use their great knowledge of thermodynamics and heat transport to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of several technologies and systems that depend on a daily basis.
