In the thrillier match between South Africa and West Indies in super 8 of T20 World Cup 2024, South Africa won the match by 3 wickets (DLS) method with West Indies due to great performance in batting and bowling. After winning this, South Africa was placed in the top position with 6 points in group 2 and was also qualified for semifinal match of T20 World Cup 2024.

Earlier, South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl first thus West Indies first batted and made a low score of 135/8 in 20 overs due to great bowling by Tabrez Shamsi 3/27 (4), Kagiso Rabada 1/11 (2), Marco Jansen 1/17 (2), Keshav Maharaj 1/24 (4), and Aiden Markram 1/28 (4). Roston Chase 52 (42), Kyle Mayers 34 (24), and Andre Russell 15 (9) were good batting from the West Indies side.  But due to rain the target reduced to 123 runs in 17 overs (DLS) method for South Africa to win this match

During chasing, South Africa lost 7 wickets, reached the target of 124 runs in 16.1 overs, and won the match by 3 wickets with West Indies due to good batting by Tristan Stubbs 29 (27), Heinrich Klaasen 22 (10), and Marco Jansen 21* (14). Roston Chase 3/12 (3), Andre Russell 2/19 (4), and Alzarri Joseph 2/25 (4) were good bowling from the West Indies side.

Tabrez Shamsi (SA), 3/27 (4), was declared as the Player of the Match due to great performance in bowling.
