Australia won the match by 28 runs (DLS) method with Bangladesh

In the match between Australia and Bangladesh of super 8 in the T20 World Cup 2024, Australia won the match by 28 runs (DLS) method with Bangladesh due to great performance in batting and bowling. After winning this match, Australia was placed in the top position with 2 points and is better run-rate as compared with India in group 1 as per the points table of T20 World Cup 2024.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and chose to bowl first thus Bangladesh first batted and made a low score of 140/8 in 20 overs due to great bowling by Pat Cummins 3/29 (4), Adam Zampa 2/24 (4), and Glenn Maxwell 1/14 (2). Najmul Hossain Shanto 41 (36), Towhid Hridoy 40 (28), and Liton Das 16 (25) were good batting from the Bangladesh side. After this inning, Bangladesh set a low target of 141 runs for Australia to win this match.

During chasing, Australia lost 2 wickets, scored 100/2 in 11.2 overs, and won the match by 28 runs (DLS method) due to good batting by David Warner 53* (35), Travis Head 31 (21), and Glenn Maxwell 14* (6). Rishad Hossain 2/23 (3) was only wicket-taker bowler from the Bangladesh side.

Pat Cummins (AUS), 3/29 (4), was declared as the Player of the Match due to great performance in bowling.
