Ramadan – It is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and also called as Ramazan which is observed by Muslims across the world as a month of fasting. According to Islamic belief, Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam and is an Arabic word that means dryness or scorching heat. Fasting is obligatory for all Muslims except those who are suffering from several diseases or conditions such as diabetes, illness, breastfeeding, chronically ill or menstruating, pregnancy, and also whose job is based on travelling regularly.

Main Aim of Ramadan – The main purpose of fasting in Ramadan is to purify our body and the soul which enhances our good deeds and also know about the difficulty of feeling thirsty and hungry the whole day. Muslims aim to grow spiritually and become closer to Allah with their loved ones in the holy month of Ramadan It is done by fasting and abstaining or avoiding pleasures such as drinking and smoking alcohol and avoiding sexual intercourse from sunrise to sunset for 29 or 30 days in the sacred month of Ramadan.

Ramazan is also a time for unity and spiritual reflection and most Muslims spend their time for reciting the Quran, praying (Namaz), and doing good deeds. The main aim of Ramadan is to avoid lying, gossiping. and fighting, donating or charity, spend time with loved ones. This purification of the soul and the body harmonizes the inner and outer spheres of an individual. Ramzan is also a month of Ibadat (Prayer) so, we also observe prayer (Namaz) during fasting.
The main aim of fasting in Ramadan is to control or to be patient with hunger, and very thirsty that help to deal with problems in the future life. It also helps in getting rid of several bad habits including smoking, drinking alcohol, backbiting, and many more that are also beneficial for health. The main purpose of Ramzan is to Muslim individuals obeys all Islamic procedures including offering regular five-time prayer (Namaz), reciting the holy book Quran, providing zakat or donating to poor people, and many more.
