Ramadan is a very important holy month for Muslims across the world because of Quaran’s first revelation to Mohammad (A.S), the prophet. It is also a month of worship, blessings, spiritual reflection, and increased devotion. The Quran was revealed in the holy month of Ramzan which is a source of true guidance for all humankind.
What is Sehri in Ramadan – The term ‘’Sehri’’ comes from Persian and is also called as Sahur or Suhoor in Arabic word. It is the meal taken by Muslims in the early morning before Fajr Namaz (Prayer) and fasting is called as Sehri. Sehri is the last meal before fasting that provides strength for the worship of Allah and fasting for the whole day.
Sehri is very important for fasting for the whole day because it provides energy and avoids weakness that is caused by the fast. Earlier, individuals were awakened by beating drums while roaring on the roads and streets. This man is known as ‘’Musahrati’’ with good health and voice. Presently, the latest method is setting off an alarm in mobile phones to wake up in the early morning or Sehri time. Generally, people wake up in the early morning at 3:30 a.m. in the Sehri time.
People take light meals such as water, fruits, milk, bread butter, omelette, tea, and many more in the Sehri time. They do not eat or drink anything till sunset in the whole day during fasting.
