Popular ghazal singer, Pankaj Udhas was popular for his works or performance in Hindi movies and Indian pop. He started his career in the ghazal album that name Aahat which was released in the year 1980. Later several popular ghazals of Pankaj Udhas such as Mukarar which was released in the year 1981, Tarannum that was released in the year 1982, Mehfil which was released in the year 1983, Nayaab, which was released in the year 1985, and Aafreen, which was released in the year 1986. After gaining popularity as a Ghazal singer, Pankaj Udhas sang the song ‘’Chitthi Aayee Hai’’ for the Hindi movie Naam by Mahesh Bhatt

Later, Pankaj Udhas also gained popularity by singing songs for several Hindi Bollywood movies. He was also popular by participating in live concerts and albums across the world.
