It’s a very shocking, heartbreaking, and very sad news that Indian television actress, Kavita Chaudhary died at the age of 67 due to a heart attack in Parvati Devi Hospital in Amritsar on February 15, 2024. Earlier, Kavita Chaudhary was admitted to the hospital due to low blood pressure. In the past, Kavita was also suffering from cancer for several years. She was known for the role of IPS officer Kalyani Singh in the popular serial Udaan which was telecasted in the Doordarshan in the year 1989. I also like and watch the popular serial Udaan with our family members during my childhood days.

Kavita Chaudhary was also the younger sister of Kanchan Chaudhary Bhattacharya, who became the second Indian Police Service (IPS) Officer after Kiran Bedi in India. A popular serial Udaan was based on women empowerment that was telecasted between 1989 and 1981. Kavita Chaudhary worked with popular actor Shekhar Kapur in the serial Udaan which shows the struggles of a women to become an IPS officer

Kavita Chaudhary directed and wrote the popular serial Udaan which is also based on her sister Kanchan Chaudhary Bhattacharya who was also an IPS officer. She was also becoming Director General of Police of a state and was retired after 33 years of service on October 31, 2007. But Kanchan Chaudhary also died at a hospital in Mumbai on August 29, 2019. After that, she also produced two more serials IPS Diaries, and Your Honour. She also worked in the serial Apradhi Kaun between the year1981 and 1982.

Kavita Chaudhary was also known for the role of Lalitaji in the popular Surf ads in the year 1980s and 1990s. In this popular Surf ad she played the smart or intelligent wife who is careful while spending her money and also ways to choose the right product. During the pandemic, a popular Hindi serial Udaan was re-telecasted on Doordarshan.
