Introduction – Famous poet, Munawwar Rana, one of the popular Indian poets, died due to cardiac arrest on January 14, 2024, at the age of 71. Earlier, He was admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Previously, Munawwar Rana has also suffered from lung and throat infections since 2017. He was also undergoing kidney treatment regularly and he had to undergo dialysis. Previously, he was first admitted to Medanta Hospital and later SGPGI in Lucknow. Munawwar Rana was well-known for his different writing and made great contributions to poetry and Urdu literature.

1. He was born on November 26, 1952, and belonged to Rae Bareli in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
2. He learned poetry under the mentorship or guidance of popular poets Wali Aasi and Ali Abbas Khan.
3. He was honored or awarded with the Sahitya Akademi Award for his popular poem Shahdaba in the year 2014.
4. He also received many awards including the Ghalib Award, Ameer Khusro Award, Dr. Zakir Hussain Award, and many more.
