1 Rajab Mubarak 2024

Rajab is the seventh month of the Islamic calendar which will mark the start of Rajab month from today. The word ‘Rajab’ came from Rajub which means admired, regarded, and respected. Muslims follow the Hijri or Islamic calendar that is based on the lunar cycle and consists of 12 months with 354-355 days as a lunar cycle lasts for 29 or 30 days comparatively than 30 or 31 days per month.

The month of Rajab starts following the sighting of the moon on the 29th day of the current month. In the year 2024, the Rajab will start on January 13 in India but in Middle East countries including Saudi Arabia, the Rajab begins one day before on January 12. Most Shia Muslims celebrate the birth anniversary (Wiladat) of Imam Mohammad-al-Baqir (a.s) is marked on the 1st Rajab and will celebrate on January 13, 2024.
