In the first semi-final match between India and New Zealand, India won the match by 70 runs with New Zealand due to great performance in bowling and batting. After winning this match, India reached the final of the World Cup 2023. The final match will be played on November 19, 2023, on Sunday in Ahmedabad.

Earlier, India won the toss and chose to bat first and made a huge score of 397/4 in 50 overs due to great batting by Virat Kohli 117 (113), Shreyas Iyer 105 (70), Shubman Gill 80* (66), Rohit Sharma 47 (29), and K.L. Rahul 39* (20). Both Tim Southee 3/100 (10) and Trent Boult 1/86 (10) were wicket-taker bowlers from the New Zealand side. After this inning, India set a huge target of 398 runs in 50 overs for New Zealand to win this match.
During chasing, New Zealand was all out at 327 runs in 48.5 overs and lost the semi-final match with India due to great bowing by Mohammed Shami 7/57 (9.5), Kuldeep Yadav 1/56 (10), Jasprit Bumrah 1/64 (10), and Mohammed Siraj 1/78 (9). Daryl Mitchell 134 (119), Kane Williamson 69 (73), and Glenn Philips 41 (33) were good batting from the New Zealand side.
Mohammed Shami (IND), 7/57 (9.5), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in bowling.
