What is Pathology

Pathology is the branch of medical science, which is mainly concerned with the origin, cause, and nature of disease. It also involves the examination of organs, autopsies, tissues, and bodily fluids to research and diagnosis of diseases. Pathology is also the study of diseases with their nature and causes which teaches how these serious diseases may cause and how they are dangerous for the health of a person.

Pathology also involves the analysis of the causes of illness or diseases, how it develops, the impact of disease on cells, and the outcome of the disease. The term ‘’pathology’’ refers to the study or research of disease that incorporates a wide range of medical practices and biology research fields.  The term ‘’pathology’’ comes from the word ‘’pathos’’ a Greek word which means ‘’suffering’’ and ‘’logia’’ which means ‘’the study of’’.

Pathology is also the area or field and contains several medical specialties that diagnose several diseases mainly through the analysis of the cell and tissue of the human body.  The word pathology may also refer to the actual or predicted development of specific diseases.
