Earlier, India won the toss and chose to bowl first thus Pakistan first batted and was all out at only 191 runs in 42.5 overs due to great bowling by Jasprit Bumrah 2/19 (7), Hardik Pandya 2/34 (6), Kuldeep Yadav 2/35 (10), Ravindra Jadeja 2/38 (9.5), and Mohammad Siraj 2/50 (8). Babar Azam 50 (58), Mohammad Rizwan 49 (69), and Imam-ul-Haq 36 (38) were good batting from the Pakistani side. After this inning, Pakistan set a very low target of 192 runs in 50 overs for India to win this match.

During chasing, India lost 3 wickets, reached the target of 192 runs in only 30.3 overs, and won the match by 7 wickets with Pakistan due to good batting by Rohit Sharma 86 (63), Shreyas Iyer 53* (62), and K.L. Rahul 19* (29). Both Shaheen Afridi 2/36 (6), and Hasan Ali 1/34 (6) were good bowling from the Pakistani side.

Jasprit Bumrah (IND), 2/19 (7), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in bowling.
