It’s a very proud moment for our country that the Indian athlete, Tejaswin Shankar won the silver medal in athletics in the ongoing Asian Games 2023. He won the silver medal in the men’s decathlon event at the Asian Games 2023, Hangzhou, China.

Tejaswin Shankar won the silver medal in the men’s decathlon event with a total score of 7666 points in 10 grueling events at the Asian Games 2023. He won the first silver medal for India since 1974 and also broke the national record of 7658 points of Bharatinder Singh. Tejaswin Shankar became the first Indian athlete to win the silver medal in the men’s decathlon in the Asian Games after Vijay Singh Chauhan who won the gold medal at the Asian Games in the year 1974.

Earlier, Tejaswin Shankar won the bronze medal in the men’s high jump at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. He also won the bronze medal in the men’s decathlon at the Asian Athletics Championships 2023 in Bangkok.
