In the fifth match of Asia Cup 2023, India won the match by 10 wickets with Nepal due to great performance in batting and bowling. After winning this match, India qualified for the Super 4 matches in the Asia Cup 2023.

Earlier, India won the toss and chose to bowl first thus Nepal batted and was all out at 230 runs in 48.2 overs due to great bowling by Ravindra Jadeja 3/40 (10), Mohammad Siraj 3/61 (9.2), Shardul Thakur 1/26 (4), Mohammad Shami 1/29 (7), and Hardik Pandya 1/34 (8). Aasif Sheikh 58 (97), Sompal Kami 48 (56), and Kushal Bhurtel 38 (25) were good batting from the Nepal side. After this inning, Nepal set a low target of 231 runs in 50 overs for India to win this one-day match.

But due to rain, the target was changed to 145 runs in 23 overs for India to win this match. During chasing, India reached the target of 145 runs without any losing wickets, reached the target in only 20.1 overs, and won the match by 10 wickets with Nepal due to a great opening partnership by Rohit Sharma 74* (59) and Shubman Gill 67* (62). No one bowler took a wicket from the Nepal side.

Rohit Sharma (IND), 74* (59) was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in batting.
