ISRO Launched Aditya L1 on September 2, 2023, for Solar Mission

It’s great news for Indians that the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) launched Aditya L1 by PSLV-C57 successfully at 11: 50 am on September 2, 2023, from Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC), Sriharikota in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Aditya L1 is the first solar mission of India to study about the sun. As per ISRO, this first solar mission will determine the effects of the Sun on the Earth and its atmosphere. This spacecraft will be located in a halo orbit around Lagrange point L1 between the Earth and the Sun and is placed around 1.5 million kilometers from Earth and also study about the solar magnetic storms, solar atmosphere, and the effect on the environment of Earth.

Aditya LI is the first solar mission of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to study about the Sun in detail. It will also provide important information about the impact of the Sun on Earth so this solar mission will be the main step forward for the space program of India. Aditya LI spacecraft will travel around 1.5 million kilometers from Earth in 125 days. As per ISRO, a satellite is located in the halo orbit around the LI point which has the main benefit of continuously observing or watching the Sun without any eclipses. It will offer a great benefit of analyzing solar activities and their impact on space weather in real-time.

As per ISRO, Aditya LI will carry seven payloads that are SUIT, ASPEX, VELC, HEL10S, PAPA, SoLEXS, and Advanced Tri-axial High-Resolution Digital Magnetometers to analyze the chromosphere, photosphere, and the outermost layer of the Sun with the help of electromagnetic and magnetic field detectors. The suits of Aditya L1 spacecraft payloads are likely to offer the most important information for understanding the issue or problem of coronal mass ejection, coronal heating, dynamics of space weather, and many more.
