Introduction – World COPD Day is celebrated every year on November 16 across the world to spread awareness about chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. The main aim of this international day is to inform people about the severity and prevention of COPD disease across the world.

COPD – It stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is one of the severe disorders which prevents airflow from the lungs that makes it difficult for individuals to carry out their daily routines. It is also a chronic inflammatory lung disease which causes obstructed airflow from the lungs. If any person is suffering from COPD, then it may enhance the risk of getting diagnosed with lung cancer, heart disease, and many more. A person can reduce the risk of COPD and several other associated diseases through appropriate treatment and proper management.
Chronic bronchitis and Emphysema are the most common conditions which contribute to COPD. Generally, these two conditions occur together that may vary in severity among people with COPD.

- Difficulty in breathing especially during physical activities

Causes of COPD – The main cause of COPD is tobacco smoking and smoking cigarette is the main leading cause of COPD disease. Most individuals are suffering from this disease at an age of 40 or above with a history of smoking. Many genetic factors and other irritants are also causes of COPD disease.

Risk factors of COPD – There are some of the risk factors of COPD are given below –

- Work in polluted areas which are composed of many chemicals and dust
- Household air pollution
